Privacy, in plain language.
Saathi is for children, so we hold ourselves to a high bar. This page explains what we collect on this website, why, and what you can do about it. Saathi hasn’t launched yet; before it does, we’ll publish a full policy covering the app itself, including how voice conversations are handled.
The short version
- We only collect what we need to run the waitlist and tell you when Saathi is ready.
- We never ask for your child’s name or any details about them beyond an age range and Nepali level.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or share it for marketing.
- You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
If you join as a parent: your name and email address, your country, your children’s age range(s), their current Nepali level, and (optionally) how you heard about us.
If you join as a school or teacher: a contact name, email address, organization name, country and city, an approximate number of students, and any message you choose to send.
Automatically: the date you joined, the referral link you used (if any), and campaign tags in the link you clicked (like utm_source). To stop spam, we briefly record a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We don’t store the IP address itself, and the scrambled version is discarded after about 10 minutes.
What we don’t collect
No children’s names, photos, voices or contact details. The waitlist is for parents, guardians and educators only, not for children to sign up themselves. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Why we use it
- To keep your place on the waitlist and email you when it’s your turn.
- To send a confirmation email with your position and referral link.
- For schools and teachers, to contact you personally about using Saathi.
- To understand, in aggregate, where families are and which ages and levels to build for first.
Our legal basis (where GDPR / UK GDPR applies) is your consent when you sign up, and our legitimate interest in preventing spam.
Who helps us
We use a few trusted services that process data only on our instructions:
- Google (Google Sheets and Gmail) stores the waitlist and sends our emails.
- Vercel hosts this website.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (if enabled) checks that sign-ups come from people, not bots.
These providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States, with appropriate safeguards.
Your browser
If you arrive through someone’s referral link, we remember that link in your browser’s local storage so the right person gets credit if you sign up later. It never leaves your device unless you submit the form.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until Saathi launches and you’ve been invited, or until you ask us to delete it. If you don’t create an account within 12 months of your invitation, we’ll delete your waitlist entry.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, or to stop receiving emails, at any time. Just reply to any email from us or write to dahalsuyog26@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Australia or California), you may have additional rights, including complaining to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll email everyone on the waitlist.
